Tahiti Islands, Resorts and Hotels
The Aranui V is a working cargo freighter that also operates as a cruise ship, taking passengers to the most remote island group in French Polynesia—the Marquesas. The ship departs every three weeks from Papeete and transports everything from food and liquor to medicine and fuel to the small, inhabited islands of Ua Pou, Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa, Fatu Hiva, Tahuata and Ua Huka, as well as Fakarava and Rangiroa in the Tuamotu Atolls.
Havaiki Lodge is a quaint guesthouse set on a breathtaking stretch of sand just north of the main village of Fakarava, Rotoava. This intimate retreat offers authentic bungalow accommodations with modern design, beautiful views of the sunset over the lagoon, freshly caught and locally sourced meals and authentic Polynesian charm. With tables set in the shallow water of the lagoon, this hotel gives the appearance of a classic lost paradise fantasy.
Pension Raimiti is a charming guesthouse with authentic accommodations on the southeastern corner of Fakarava. Located an hour and a half away by boat from the airport, it's one of the few pensions on the atoll with convenient access to the Tumakohua Pass and Tetamanu Village. This rustic paradise encompasses the true meaning of traditional Polynesian warmth and hospitality.
